Universidad a la Calle

As a response to severe government cuts in education budget, a group of 28 University professors decided to take our lectures to the streets. We chose a central square in Granada called Bib-rambla and gave 14 lectures to more than 500 participants.

I chose to give a talk on Experimental Economics, focusing on the replicability problems of theories such as the “rational expectations theory” and the “efficient markets theory”. A great part of my talk was inspired by an article titled “Goodbye, homo economicus” by A. Kaletsky.

Our action was covered by the local media

Also watch the brief video of the event I prepared using as soundtrack the piece “Vrohi” (rain) from Manos Hatzidakis’s “To hamogelo tis Gioconda” (Gioconda’s smile).
